  1. Hi Joy! Are some of the books above also made available through TMA or are they bought from the publishers? I saw on TMA’s website that depending on the child’s ability, books are then suggested. Also, I find the Simply Drawing book and DVD to be really nice, is that available locally? Always looking forward to your post as my kids are almost the same age as yours- 4, 3 and 4 months. Thanks 🙂

    1. The Mystery of History, exploring creation with astronomy, and local textbooks are available through TMA homeschool. Some of the others I found on line or in national bookstore, like the math and English. It’s Singapore math and Singapore English with answer keys in the back which is great! As for the DVD curriculum, that’s from the US. You can probably get it though amazon. It was a gift.

      1. No rush Joy. It’s gonna be awhile before Dan reach Elijah’s age. 🙂

I’m happy that you posted Edan’s first. Dan’s in Grade 1 too.

  2. Hi Joy, where did you buy the Exploring Creation with Astronomy..my 3yr old boy really loves the subject on outer space, but almost all books and videos we have contradict with the Bible at so many levels, we sometimes have a hard time explaining the Biblical facts to him since some videos show the Big Bang and so on which really appeals to him visually..

    1. You can buy it from TMA homeschool (even if you are not enrolled). But it’s kind of pricey. You can check online http://www.apologia.com for the price. TMA homeschool sells it for a few hundred pesos more because of shipping. For me it’s worth it because you can use it with all your kids. It’s one of those books you want to keep for the entire family. And you will enjoy reading through it. I learned a lot when I read it to Elijah years ago and I am using it again for Edan. TMA homeschool sells all of apologia’s science curriculum options.

  3. Hi joy! It’s the first time I saw Step-by-Step Maths, I checked it online and I saw it’s Singapore-based, am I correct? How would you compare Step-by-STep with My Pals are Here and AOP for Grade 1? 🙂

    1. It is way cheaper 😉 I found it at national bookstore and it has answer keys in the back he he. 🙂

  4. Hi Joy,
I’m looking for my daughter’s English curriculum and I found the book you used. Where did you buy the “Challenging English 4-in-1? Why did you choose this book among all other books? What do you like about this book? Which one do you think is better, the Singapore English or the Challenging English 4-in-1? And by the way, how many hours of homeschooling do you spend on each child? I really admire you that you can teach so many subjects and you have four kids to teach. Do you cover all the subjects in one day or do you separate the subjects on different days?

    1. Hi Laverne!
Depending on their ages, I spend about 45 minutes with my 4 year old, 1.5 with my 6 year old, and about 1.5 to 2 hours with my 9 year old. But this is just the instructional part. They do alot of work on their own (for the older two). I bought the books you mentioned at National Book store.:) I was experimenting this year with another option so I used those books. So far, they seem to be okay except that they use British terms and expressions. 🙂
